Who is this for?
Licensed health professionals including RN, MA, NP, DO, MD or DMD, wishing to gain an in-depth knowledge and hands-on training in various laser and light based devices.

Non-health licensed professionals are encouraged to apply, however, a background in aesthetics or an understanding of skin anatomy and physiology provides a stronger foundation to build an understanding of how lasers interact with the skin.

Hours: 88 hours - 48 of which are hands-on in our Scottsdale, AZ academy

How is our program different?

Med-Surg Academy's founder, Erin Cooper, is a leader in the laser aesthetics arena working for the last decade as an instructor for Sciton, a leading laser device manufacturer. She built her own medspa practice and knows the ins and outs of building a career in the laser aesthetics industry. She developed the curriculum with hands-on training a core emphasis as she knows the critical importance experience provides in building expertise and self-assurance. Significant real-world experience enables students to analyze various skin types and concerns, performing treatments to build competence and develop confidence to succeed. What credentials will I receive?

Our state approved course provides the educational credentials to obtain the Certified Laser Technician (CLT) from the Arizona Board of Radiation Control and the Laser Safety Officer (LSO) certification from the Arizona Department of Health Services.

Maximum Students Per Class

Each session will be limited to a maximum of 7 students to ensure that individual attention and mentorship can be given as needed.

Objectives:

◘ Analyze client's unique characteristics, skin typing and which lasers will produce the desired results and customized treatment plans

◘ Understand hazards, how to avoid them, contraindications

◘ Combination techniques

◘ Orientation to explaining benefits, managing expectations and results

◘ Hands-on practice under supervision performing procedures on live models

Tuition & Fees

Tuition: $8,500

Registration: $200 (non-refundable)

A 10% non-refundable deposit is required to hold your space in any session. Tution must be paid in full 30 days prior to your session start date or you will be bumped to the next available session and your deposit forfeited.

Didactic & Hands-on Training Sessions

There is both a didactic session (40 hours) and a hands-on session (48 hours) for this course. Both are required for state certification. Note the online and in-person didactic options that vary by month. Please make sure you are able to attend both the Didactic and the Hands-on session for your chosen session prior to registering.

Travel Arrangements

Med-Surg Aesthetics & Laser Academy can help coordinate travel arrangements for out-of-state students wishing to travel for hands-on training.

Varying Session Scheduling

We offer online and in-person Didactic training options as well as morning and evening hours which vary by session and are either Monday through Friday 10am - 2pm or 5pm - 9pm.

Clinical Hands-on training is Monday through Friday, and will begin each day promptly at 10am and students will be dismissed for the day at 6pm.
